Talk more with google talk!

Google talk is great…. We love chatting… So do our friends…!

Yes… sometimes friends do turn up saying “Log out… I wanna Log In!”

That’s becoz only one instance of Google talk can be active at one time. But there is a fix to this… and it’s as simple as that… chk it out 8)

Just right click on your desktop and select new > create new shortcut.

Then give the path to the google talk icon in double qoutes and then leave a space and write ‘/nomutex’ without quotes.

Now u can open as many instances of google talk as u like and different people can log in separately!

Hey I just can’t find a good reason why this happens, but still if someone has a plausible reason then do share with me.

And also try this link……

www.gahooyoogle.com a search companion….[:D]

These days a lot of search engines are emerging…. do try them too…. sometimes they give good results for some weird queries like ‘virtual memory’.

PS1: I came across this while surfing the net!

PS2: I think i might finish my ITWS project. I might not turn into my MS thesis.

PS3: DSP….. I think i can still get through it!

PS4: Today gedit crashed thrice while making the studenttable.py script………..:x Kill gedit…

In Windows, before launching, most of the apps check for another running instance with the help of globally registered mutex. For example first instance will register some unique mutex and when you launch another instance it will try to register the mutex with same id , which is not allowed. (Think of declaring a global variable twice)

Probably nomutex switch in gtalk disables this mutex and therefore you can launch as many instances as you want.

    :)

nomutex is simply a flag that you pass to the executable… there’s no magic here, it’s deliberately coded to be that way. this is one of those small features that google does not popularize… there’re tons of such hacks available for gtalk, picasa, google earth etc… you wanna know how to get them? google it :D

Breaking News! http://www.PolyCola.com is now replaced in place of http://www.GahooYoogle.com with much more facilities and functionalities by Arbel Hakopian the creator of both search engines. From now on we should use http://www.PolyCola.com for searching.
