Abstract:
With the placement season and CAT exam approaching coming CSD is disappointed on it’s inability to convert more students into it. In this distressing condition, it makes it’s last attempt to convert CSE to CSD. Ofcourse, by the next year CSD will be so lonely because CSE would be gone. The enlightened CSD *knows* that going for placements or CAT is just like being another brick in the wall. The CSE *knows* that one in *hand* is better than 2 in the *bush*, hence placements.

Though CSE was the older of the two, it always considered CSD as its elder brother. So, it respectfully tries to coax CSD to let it go to placements peacefully:

Of very late, the blog has gone dead. What is the point in being dead if you can’t live a little? But, Who Cares? Oh no, not me. Strangly enough, Criticism is the best way to say – ‘I Care’

For sometime now, I don’t want to be making anything that starts with a ‘ P ‘ and ends with a ‘Resentation’. It’s analogous to beheading a man to know him inside-out. See, the word itself speaks for itself, Personification is so overrated.

Incredibly, ‘Impossible’ says I’m Possible; then plausibly, ‘Possible’ is precisely Impossible.

BTW, that thought has got a comma, an apostrophe, qoutes, a semicolon and a period among other insignificant things like a Bi-Alliteration(I and P), an Antimetabole, an Antiphorismus, an Antithesis, an Apostrophe, an Assonance, a Chiasmus, a Consonance, an Euphony, a Hyperbole, an Irony, a Paradox and a Personification, but is still a modest Understatement.

There was a time when I considered someone’s starting a post by telling that “it has been a long time since i posted..” and explaining why they were forced into doing this henious crime as immature.  Today, I’ll indulge into it: It has been a long time since i posted and I am posting because i found something really interesting at -

Talking about the paradox:

I think everything was dismissed too soon. We have got a paradox here. This implies something must have been wrong/inconsistent somewhere before . I am considereing the paradox as a contradiction. And the fact that abnormal set is a set at the first place as the hypothesis. An abnormal set has itself in it, how can we accept that to be a set so straightaway. Afterall, a set is a collection of well defined objects.

A question which should be asked is “If a set has itself in it, then is it a set?” or “Is the set as an element of itself a well defined object?”.

So, an abnormal set might not be a set! Now, consider the paradox to be contradiction. Then, the hypothesis that Abnormal set is a set,  becomes wrong. That is to say abnormal set is not a set! So, this paradax was actually the proof of “Abnormal set not being a set”.

A Corollary would be, for a set to be a set it must not contain itself.

Maybe such kind of “not set” sets could be called pseudo-sets in future.

Btw, i can give a formal proof for the theorem, “A set cannot contain itself.” would be.

Hypothesis: let a set contain itself and still be called a set. (i.e. Abnormal sets are sets)

Then…..

All the paradox matererial comes here.

Since we get a contradiction (the paradox), the hypothesis is false.

Therefore, a set can’t contain itself.

Felicity definitely makes IIIT the most rocking place for 3  days. It’s a time of celebration and revelry and sometimes we just don’t care about what we say…

It’s the first day of  Felicity ‘09! Literary cafe came up with two really  new events namely Telewise and Word Wide Web.  Telewise was designed test people’s knowledge on television shows like Friends, Heroes, Scrubs,etc.. oops.. etcetera.  It had an amazingly great participation of   around 120 people from and from outside IIIT. Teams were of 3 persons each. 6 teams were selected for the second round.  The event was conducted smoothly and people liked the smart and tricky questions asked to them. Jairaj’s buzzer worked well too.

Other one was Word Wide Web. This is the first event that I have organized( Hey me and Sahil were going to organize an event named ‘Lol’ipop’ when we were in the second year in the sunday carnival, which did not take place) and before I start saying more.. I thank akshat, nirvana, anika(organizers of WWW) and Sahil and Aakansha(Literary coordinators) for their effort and for making the task possible and so easy.  They came up with really beautiful names and ideas for games and designed and tested and retested them. Akshat also designed the event description and the event tagline. Sahil’s support was very good . He got everything ready before time be it the question papers or  writing stuff etc. First idea for the event came to Aakansha, as far as i remember. The basic philosophy behind WWW was giving people the freedom to use their own words to solve puzzles which were somewhat different from the routine puzzles, crosswords etc.

Many(read 100!)  people took part in the event from and from outside IIIT.  In general, the participants were happy to have solved those puzzles.

Hmmm..

Well begun is half done; the new year has begun.

Gosh! Wild new year celebrations. Played dota with friends till the dawn. Slept at 6 am in the morning with a class at 10 am in the morning. I was not unprepared for this. I set an alarm at 9:00 am, 9:30 and and 9:40 am.

In the sleep i had a dream. I took a triple kill with skeleton king: Rikimaru got killed with a hellical blast, Akasha got killed by a Critical Strike(1151!!)  and  after reincarnation I killed Juggernaut during his omnislash( Yeah that’s technically not possible,  but perhaps vengence was dictating to my imagination after what my heroes had been suffering with omnislash ). Then with a triumphant smile on my face, i got unconscious until i got woken up the second alarm detonating at 9:30 am. I had bypassed the first alarm – A full quarter hour of  shrill, neuron cracking conglomorate of haphazard and hazardous digital sounds with random terror on full volume. Still on the bed, I stuck my hand out to search for the mobile and looked at the time and said to my self – ” Only 2 more minutes of sleep and then you have to wake up what so ever happens”.

I didn’t hear the third alarm too. The next time when I got awake, it felt like my neural system was undergoing a cold boot. I reached for my mobile and saw two vertical lines, two vertical dots, a rectangle and another vertical line on the  display. Seemed like some pattern recognition algorithms were not loaded yet. A few seconds later, when my mental operating system was fully reloaded, I realized that those lines and shapes meant for 11:01 am. It was like getting moonstruck in full sunshine. I missed my first class of the  new year. In a fir of rage, I demanded an hour back from time. And this is how i got it!

I turned the mobile upside down, the time was 10:11. And clock was 8 minutes fast. So it was 10:03 am. I rushed for the class.

Vengeance is not good, but for the new year I resolve :

1. No more Gaming.

2. Going for pt. 2 credits this sem.

3. 95% attendance.

4. Doing assignments all by myself.

5. No more DC.

6. Less daydreaming.

After 2-6, I think I’ll have enough time to play. So 1 can be scraped. Vengence is not good, afterall. :p

I didn’t forget.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
